Date Display:
This is how dates show in Legacy screens and reports. To customize how to Legacy displays dates, click on Options > Customize > 5. Dates and go to 5.1 Dates Display As.  Click on Help for additional information.

Tip:
We don't recommend entering or displaying dates in a purely numerical format. Is the date 7-10-1934 supposed to be 7 Oct 1934 or is it 10 Jul 1934?  Legacy will not get confused and flip-flop the day and month if you enter the month with letters (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, etc.).

Date Input Format:
This is how the user enters a date into Legacy. If a user enters Jan. 12, 1951 into Legacy and the Date Display format is set to 21 Nov 1953 the program will automatically reformat the date to 12 Jan 1951.

Computer Regional Settings:
Date input is dependent on your computer's regional settings.  If they are different, when you enter dates into Legacy you may get a message:

Styles Must Be Compatible
You have selected the Date Display Format of dd-mm-yyyy. This is different from the Date input format of month-day-year. Since these two settings must be compatible, Legacy will change the Date Display Format to be month-day-year so that they match.

Legacy should be set to match you computer's regional settings. Open your computer's Control Panel and select Region and Language > Formats tab.  Make your changes and then click on Apply and OK. Next restart your computer.
